Sports Boosters Movie Night presents “The Blind Side”

Join Us the evening of December 2nd

Join the Sports Boosters of Md. For a private screening the “The Blind Side”. Please come out and enjoy the movie with the Sports Boosters while Helping Children realize their potential through sports.

It's hard enough being a rookie offensive tackle in the NFL - mastering complex blocking schemes and dealing with lightning-fast 280-pound defensive ends - without bracing for the opening of a major motion picture based on your life story.

But that's just what Ravens tackle Michael Oher is in for when "The Blind Side," based on Michael Lewis' best-selling book about Oher, blitzes into theaters.

Fun for 21

ESPN Zone & National Aquarium in Baltimore Host the Foundation’s First “Fun for 21” Program with a little help from Sports Boosters.

The Right Side Foundation thanks the Sports Boosters of Maryland for their help in connecting us with the Ronald McDonald House as the program’s first beneficiary

The Foundation kicked off its first “Fun for 21” program on June 29th as Nick and Christina Markakis arranged for a day of activities for 21 children from the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore, Maryland.

Marianne Rowan-Braun, President & CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore, Inc. proclaimed, "Our day with Nick and Christina Markekis was a priceless "moment of splendor" for our Ronald McDonald House children. We are immeasurable grateful that Nick and Christina encircled our children with their generosity and their happy hearts. They certainly enabled great Fun for our 21."

"We are equally grateful to Eddie Wingrat and Scott Eisgrau [of Sports Boosters] for facilitating our relationship with the Right Side Foundation. Because Eddie and Scott remembered our endless stream of magnificent children, a treasured day was enjoyed by all."

Nick and Christina greeted the children at the ESPN Zone, where the day began with a short welcome and informal Q&A session.  The children then played games, enjoyed a great lunch and had individual pictures taken with the Markakis.  Nick also signed autographs for each child and the ESPN Zone provided gift bags for the children.  The Foundation also gave each child signed an action photo of Nick at bat.  The Markakises then led the group across the promenade to the National Aquarium where they enjoyed a 4-D movie and dolphin show.  The ESPN Zone and the National Aquarium each graciously provided the space and resources for the activities at their locations.

The “Fun for 21” program is a key component of the Foundation’s efforts to help improve the lives of distressed children throughout Maryland.  Each month, the Foundation will select a different community group as the beneficiary of program.
